Food and drink is something everyone loves; but there is much more to it than the titillating of all of our senses and the filling of our stomachs.
Food and drink connect us all; it is music to the soul—a universal language. There is a spiritual significance to the planting of seed, growing, harvesting, proper preparation and eating of food—even the soil, seed and plant. There is greater meaning in feasting on naturally grown food grown by farmer friends or from your own garden/homestead; even more so when enjoyed with family and good friends. There is a spiritual connection to these rituals; a connection to the Creator and His people. We will be examining this spiritual meaning of natural food with a biblical perspective.
Before we get into more depth, you must first enjoy this 4-minute presentation on the godly artwork that shows divine design of natural foods and their health-giving properties.
The importance of natural drinks, water for example, must also be considered to understand the full scope of the subject. (more…)

In this column, we will provide some info on bread, wine and water and other food choices such as fruit, milk and meats. This will be something you may want to include on the menu to whet everyone’s appetite for those foods essential for perfect and long lasting health.
CAUTION: We will need to issue a caution warning on this label and on the menu. The mere mention of biblical principles that pertain to food and health may cause a few to go into a tizzy. Also, those who may want to repeat some of this info is at risk of being diagnosed with a special label set aside in the DSM-V.

I wrote these articles back in 2002-3 and was critically reviewed and edited by my wife, Annie, and her mother, Gerry. I am currently researching Biblical and Spiritual Significance of Natural Foods and plan to develop a short course on the subject. Maureen Diaz (MotherHenof9 is her handle) is doing something similar that will be produced this year on DVD. We have agreed to trade and compare our work.

Loved the decor, loved the food, loved the conversation. And Kate […]

I was told these are *amazing* dipped in chocolate, so if you know me, you know I had to try that. My chocolate fondue dipping sauce doesn’t have to make you feel *quite* as guilty about eating a treat, though, because it has a few more nutritious ingredients than your average dessert... (Yes, natural sugars are still sugar, though, so don’t make this a lot. […]
